In the comments section of this blog post, add something you have learned this week.
It could be:

I learnt what satire is
ReplyDeleteThis week i learnt a lot about satire. I also about the vocabulary around satire.
ReplyDeleteI learned about Dr Jonathan Swift's "A modest proposal". Swift's modest proposal is about highlighting the poverty and class inequality that was in Ireland at the time. He proposed selling the babies of poor mothers to the rich. I thought that it was hilariously ridiculous. I enjoyed reading about his very creative proposal.
ReplyDeleteJonathan Swifts proposal to eat the children was to show the rich on how bad they were treating the Irish and that there was a simple answer to the situation but they weren't thinking of it

ReplyDeleteThis week i learned Heaps of new words and definitions, including lots about Satire.
ReplyDeleteI learnt the technical definitions of a bunch of words to do with parodies, such as vice (immoral or wicked behaviour), comical juxtaposition (two vastly different things put in the same setting to create humour), and irony (humorous expression of one's meaning by using language that usually signifies the opposite)
ReplyDeleteI learnt all about satire and the different ways it can be used to improve what you're saying.
ReplyDeleteI learnt that swifts A modest proposal was a proposal about how to stop the poverty in Ireland that the Irish should resort to selling they're children to be eaten. This was all written to get the British to realise how horrible the British were treating the poor Irish folk.
ReplyDeleteI learnt that kids shouldn't be breathing if they truly care about the climate.

ReplyDeleteI learnt that some kid sat on a swing for 24+ hours and that Jonathan swift thinks we shlould eat children to stop there being more poor people
This week, I learnt about how satire can invoke sociopolitcal change by exposing the ridiculousness of actions in society
ReplyDeleteThis is from Jack Stead-Wilson
DeleteI learnt about what satire means and actually watched a video that demonstrates it, satire is humour, irony, ridicule and peoples vices usually directed or based on topic issues.
